If arriving at the port by car, you can easily access Port Everglades via major highways such as Interstate 595, U.S. Ride to the luxurious Galleria Mall, the pristine beaches, or the chic Las Olas Boulevard for dining and shopping. Located in the bustling yachting area of 17th Street, this beautiful hotel is popular amongst cruise guests. It's also a short walk to Broward County Convention Center, which you can reach on foot in less than 10 minutes. This is the closest major airport to the Cape Canaveral area, where many cruises leave from Port Canaveral, on Florida’s Space Coast. There are also a ton of great things to do in the Cape Canaveral area.

CRUISES FROM FORT LAUDERDALE
Since 2011, the cruiseferry company BALEARIA Caribbean provides daily crossings from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport (Grand Bahama Island). In August 2019, the company started a fast-ferry service from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini Island Bahamas (crossing time ~2 hours). Please pay to park at your cruise terminal's designated parking area and simply take a short walk to your ship; no need for shuttles. Several terminals and parking lots are near the cruise port, which is next to the Fort Lauderdale airport. The port is the only cruise port in the United States adjacent to an international airport, making it convenient located for cruise passengers traveling by air. Terminal 1 is dedicated for ferry services to the Bahamas, while cruises use the port’s other passenger terminals. For example, Terminal 2 serves cruise ships operated by Princess Cruises. Access to Port Everglades terminal is extremely easy by either highway or air.
Upon approaching the port area, follow the signs indicating Port Canaveral Cruise Terminals. Take the North exit from the airport, staying to the right on SR 528 East. Before arriving to the port, check your cruise documents to make sure which is the Terminal your ship will be departing from. Terminal A is the home terminal for all Oasis Class vessels when sailing out of PortMiami. All other ships, please consult your email communication and directional signage once you arrive to PortMiami.

Parking at Port Everglades is comparable to other ports, though the costs can still add up. Terminal 25There’s been a recent trend toward cruise lines building spectacular modern terminals and Terminal 25 fits the bill for Celebrity Cruises. As home to Celebrity — and the fleet’s most modern ships — Port Everglades has a sleek terminal to go along with those vessels. If you plan to stay a night in the area, you can take an Uber or taxi to Fort Lauderdale and select a hotel that offers a shuttle to the port.
A Guide to Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Terminals
Ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft are also options from the airport and other points in and around Fort Lauderdale. Taxis generally cost between $15 and $20 each way between the airport and port, while ridesharing services are slightly cheaper with fares between $10 and $15. The city parking garage (EDIC) is located across the street from the Ray Flynn Cruisport. The daily fee is $16 per day (subject to charge) and is payable with cash or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) when you enter the garage.
This terminal was recently redone to honor Disney and features a “Finding Nemo” motif on your way to the ship. Meanwhile, the port is also extremely close to the Fort Lauderdale airport. The airport is just three miles away, or about 10 minutes. In other words you can fly in and be at your ship within an hour — even accounting for getting off the plane and getting to your ride. When it comes to convenience, it’s hard to beat the location of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
So if you don’t need to park right at the ship and don’t mind an extra 10 minutes to get to the ship, you can save significantly. They offer service in both Miami or Fort Lauderdale (including airports), so no matter where you are, you can get a ride. We’ve estimated the cost of a ride from certain points of interest below. Keep in mind that these rates are for the entire car, not per person. Once again, the location of Port Everglades offers a big advantage for cruise passengers. Sitting right near the airport and near A1A that runs along the beach, there are a number of hotels that are within just minutes of the port.
Depending on your travel needs and budget, there are four airports you can choose from when planning your cruise from Fort Lauderdale. The upside of a taxi is that there should be no wait in order to get a ride. You simply arrive, and head to the taxi stand to be on your way.
